IAEA Opportunities

The International Atomic Energy Agency remains one of the most important sources of training, technical meetings, fellowships and professional development for Africa’s expanding nuclear workforce.

Prospective African applicants should monitor individual Task Group calls carefully because eligibility, technical requirements and closing dates vary.

The ICRP programme has previously included mentorship work associated with Task Group 113, which addresses reference organ and effective-dose coefficients for common diagnostic X-ray imaging examinations. The five-week programme is WNU’s flagship leadership and professional-development programme for high-potential professionals across the nuclear industry. It combines lectures, mentored group work, leadership development, technical visits and interaction with senior nuclear-sector professionals.

Applicants would normally be expected to hold an undergraduate degree and have at least four years of professional nuclear-industry experience, or comparable experience in another relevant sector. Strong English proficiency and organisational endorsement are also required.
