These developments will take centre stage at the 5th Africa Nuclear Business Platform (AFNBP) 2026, which will convene leading nuclear stakeholders in Abuja, Nigeria, in April 2026.

Applications such as cancer treatment through radiation therapy, mutation breeding for improved crop varieties, food preservation technologies, and isotope hydrology for groundwater assessment illustrate the wide-ranging benefits nuclear technology can bring to African societies. From powering major urban centres to supporting rural development initiatives, nuclear solutions have the potential to improve living standards while contributing to climate-resilient development.
